What is the name of the actress who plays Maggie Pierce?

The actress who plays Maggie Pierce is Kelly McCreary.

McCreary first appeared as Maggie in Grey’s Anatomy in 2014. The character initially arrived as a talented new cardiothoracic surgeon joining Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, but her family connection soon became one of the show’s major revelations: Maggie was Ellis Grey and Richard Webber’s biological daughter and Meredith Grey’s half-sister.

McCreary’s casting was deliberately kept mysterious. She auditioned for a role described under a different name and did not initially know the character’s full significance. Maggie began as a guest character before McCreary was promoted to series regular during Season 11.

A common mix-up is confusing McCreary with Ellen Pompeo, who plays Maggie’s half-sister Meredith, or Sarah Drew, who plays April Kepner. McCreary remained a central cast member for several seasons and also portrayed Maggie’s highly demanding career as a leading cardiothoracic surgeon.
