What is the name of the 1,000th Pokémon in the National Pokédex?
Answer
Gholdengo
Answer
Gholdengo
Gholdengo is the 1,000th Pokémon in the National Pokédex. It is a Steel- and Ghost-type Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Gholdengo evolves from Gimmighoul after Gimmighoul levels up while the player has collected 999 Gimmighoul Coins. Its design resembles a humanoid figure made from stacked gold coins, matching the species’ connection to the coin-collecting mechanics in the Paldea region.
The number 1,000 was reached during Generation IX, but Gholdengo is not the same Pokémon as Gimmighoul, its pre-evolution. That distinction causes a frequent mix-up because Gimmighoul is the Pokémon associated with the coins and appears in both Chest Form and Roaming Form. The National Pokédex number is an index position, not a statement about when Gholdengo was designed or first revealed.
