What is the name of Samwise Gamgee's father?

Samwise Gamgee's father is Hamfast Gamgee, commonly called the Gaffer. Hamfast is a Hobbit of Hobbiton and works as the gardener of Bag End, first for Bilbo Baggins and later for Frodo.

Sam inherits both his father's gardening work and his nickname-based connection to the household.
