What is the name of Prince Phillip's horse?

The story behind the answer

Prince Phillip's horse is named Samson. The horse accompanies Phillip in Sleeping Beauty and becomes a memorable part of the prince's journey to rescue Aurora.

Samson appears during Phillip's return from the forest and later helps him travel toward Maleficent's castle. Although he cannot speak, he is animated with a distinct personality and reacts expressively to Phillip, making him more than a generic royal mount.

The horse also helps connect the romantic and heroic halves of Phillip's story. Phillip first meets Aurora while riding in the forest, unaware that she is the princess to whom he was betrothed. After Maleficent captures him, the fairies free and equip him for the final battle, while Samson remains associated with his royal identity and travels.

Samson is often confused with Maximus, the highly expressive horse from Tangled, or Angus from The Princess and the Frog. Those are different Disney characters. Some secondary references spell the name “Sampson,” but “Samson” is the standard name used for Phillip's horse in Disney-related references and the quiz's intended answer.
