What is the name of Porsche's first all-electric production car?

Porsche’s first all-electric production car was the Porsche Taycan. The battery-electric luxury sports car entered series production in 2019 after being previewed by the Mission E concept.

Porsche revealed the production Taycan at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. It uses the Volkswagen Group’s J1 electric-car platform and is built around a high-voltage battery, electric motors and an 800-volt electrical architecture. Depending on the version, the car has rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive.

The Taycan name is specific to Porsche’s production model; Mission E was the earlier concept name. The car is offered in several forms, including sedan and shooting-brake derivatives such as the Taycan Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo.

The Audi e-tron GT is closely related mechanically, sharing the J1 platform, but it is an Audi rather than Porsche’s first production EV. The Panamera is a combustion-engine-based luxury car, while the Rimac Nevera and Tesla Roadster are separate electric performance models.
