What is the name of Google's cloud storage service?
Answer
Google Drive
Answer
Google Drive
Google’s cloud storage service is Google Drive.
Google launched Drive on April 24, 2012, turning cloud file storage and synchronization into a central part of its consumer and business ecosystem. Users can upload files to Google’s servers, access them through a browser or app, synchronize them across devices, and share them with other people.
Drive also became the home for files created in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. That integration is why people sometimes describe Drive as an office suite, although the storage service and the editing applications are distinct parts of Google’s broader Workspace platform. Google Drive is also commonly confused with Google One: Drive is the file-storage service, while Google One is the subscription system that provides expanded storage and other benefits.
The service initially stood out for collaboration rather than simple online backup. Multiple people can work on compatible documents, comment on them, control permissions, and keep files available across computers and mobile devices. Its free storage allocation is shared with other Google services, including Gmail and Google Photos.
