Lisa Cuddy is House M.D.’s hospital administrator and former romantic partner.
Dr. Lisa Cuddy is the dean of medicine and hospital administrator at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. She frequently challenges House’s methods, especially when his risky diagnostic decisions create legal, financial, or ethical problems, but she also protects his medical department because she recognizes his rare diagnostic ability.
Cuddy and House develop a romantic relationship late in the series after years of professional conflict and personal tension. Their relationship ends during the show’s seventh season. Lisa Edelstein played Cuddy through season seven, but the character does not appear in the eighth and final season.
Cuddy is often confused with Stacy Warner, House’s former partner who appears earlier in the story, or with Dr. Wilson, House’s closest friend. Those characters have different roles. Cuddy is the hospital’s senior administrator and the executive most directly responsible for managing House at work.
