Discord’s feature for playing games together in voice channels is called Activities.
Activities are shared experiences built into Discord’s voice chats. Users can launch them from a voice channel using the rocket-ship icon, allowing friends to play games, watch videos, draw, or enjoy other interactive activities without leaving Discord.
Discord began rolling out Activities in 2022, initially offering experiences such as Putt Party and Watch Together. Later options included Poker Night, Chess in the Park, Checkers in the Park, Gartic Phone, and other social games. Some Activities are made by Discord, while the platform also supports eligible third-party developers.
A common mix-up is treating “Activities” as the name of a game or calling the feature “Voice Games.” Those phrases describe what users may do, but Activities is Discord’s official umbrella term. Activities can also be launched in direct-message voice calls, not only in server voice channels.
