What is the name of Buster's mother?

The story behind the answer

Buster's mother in the Arthur television series is Bitzi Baxter.

Bitzi Lynne Baxter is Buster Baxter's divorced mother and one of the recurring adults in Elwood City. She works for the Elwood City Times, eventually serving as its editor, which gives her a connection to the community beyond her role as Buster's parent. In early stories, Bitzi is often portrayed as anxious and overprotective, while later episodes show a more relaxed and independent side.

Buster lives with Bitzi in the television series, while his father, Bo Baxter, is a pilot who travels widely. That family arrangement is a notable difference between the TV continuity and some of the Arthur books, where Bo and Bitzi are married. Bitzi also has a brief relationship with newspaper colleague Harry Mills.

Her character helps give Buster's stories a family perspective, especially when his curiosity, imagination, or worries clash with a parent's concern. Bitzi is voiced by Ellen David in the series.
