What is the name of Blanka's electrical attack in Street Fighter II?

The story behind the answer

Blanka’s electrical attack in Street Fighter II is called Electric Thunder.

During Electric Thunder, Blanka crouches and surrounds his body with electricity, damaging an opponent who touches him. In the original Street Fighter II, the move is performed by rapidly pressing a punch button, making it distinct from his charge-based Rolling Attack.

Electric Thunder is one of Blanka’s signature special moves and first appeared with him in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. His ability to generate electricity is tied to his fictional backstory: after a plane crash in the Amazon rainforest, the boy who became Blanka was exposed to unusual conditions, traditionally associated with electric eels.

The move is often confused with Rolling Attack because both are iconic Blanka techniques. Rolling Attack sends Blanka hurtling forward in a ball, while Electric Thunder keeps him in place and punishes close contact. “Bite” and “Back Jump” are not the name of this electrical special move.
