What is the name of America250’s nationwide volunteering initiative for 2026?

America250’s nationwide volunteering initiative for 2026 is called America Gives.

America Gives was designed as a national call to service connected with the United States Semiquincentennial. The program encourages businesses, nonprofits, schools, faith communities, and civic groups to organize or join volunteer activities during the 250th-anniversary year.

The initiative is one of several America250 programs intended to connect the anniversary with civic participation rather than limiting it to ceremonies. Other America250 projects include America’s Field Trip, a student contest, and Our American Story, which collects personal stories about the country.

America Gives is sometimes confused with Giving 4th, a separate America250 effort focused on encouraging charitable donations around Independence Day. The names refer to different forms of participation: America Gives centers on volunteering and service, while Giving 4th centers on donating to charities.
