A Tesla V2 Supercharger has a maximum power output of 150 kilowatts.

Tesla’s V2 network was introduced as a faster successor to the company’s original Supercharger hardware. Its maximum rated charging power is 150 kW, although the actual rate a vehicle receives can be lower because charging depends on battery state, temperature, vehicle capability and station conditions.

A common mix-up is confusing V2’s 150 kW ceiling with newer Supercharger generations. V3 Superchargers raised the peak to 250 kW for compatible vehicles, while some newer V4 installations can support still higher site capabilities depending on the equipment and vehicle. Another source of confusion is power sharing: older V2 sites commonly split available power between paired stalls, so two cars charging in the same pair may affect one another’s peak rate.

The 150 kW figure is therefore the hardware generation’s maximum rating, not a promise that every Tesla will charge at that speed throughout a session. Charging normally tapers as the battery fills, preserving battery health and managing heat.
