Tiger Woods’ lowest round in a major championship is 63.
Woods shot 63 in the second round of the 2007 PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His seven-under-par round tied the major-championship record at the time and helped him build momentum toward winning the tournament. He finished the event at eight under par and captured his 13th major title.
The round was especially memorable because Woods nearly made history outright. He needed a birdie on the 18th hole to shoot 62, but the putt horseshoed around the cup and stayed out. His 63 therefore remained a record-tying score rather than the first 62 in a major.
The distinction between Woods’ personal best and the overall major record matters. Other golfers have since shot 62 in major championships, beginning with Branden Grace at the 2017 Open Championship. That development does not change Woods’ own lowest major round, which remains 63.
