What is the full name of the hospital where House works in House M.D.?

The story behind the answer

The hospital where House works in House M.D. is Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

The fictional teaching hospital is the main setting for the series. Its departments provide the specialists, equipment, patients, and institutional conflicts surrounding House’s diagnostic cases. The hospital is located in the fictional town of Plainsboro, New Jersey, near Princeton.

Princeton-Plainsboro is not a real hospital, although the series used real locations and studio sets to create its appearance. The exterior establishing shots were associated with Princeton University’s Frist Campus Center, while much of the interior action was filmed on constructed sets.

The hospital name changed later in the story after a merger. In the first seven seasons, it is generally known as Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital; after the merger in season eight, the institution is called Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital.
