What is the first downloadable expansion pack for the 2019 game "Pokemon Sword and Shield" on Nintendo Switch?

The story behind the answer

The first downloadable expansion pack for Pokémon Sword and Shield is The Isle of Armor. It is the first part of the two-part Expansion Pass for the Nintendo Switch games, preceding The Crown Tundra.

The Isle of Armor launched on June 17, 2020, and adds a new island area to the Galar region. Its story centers on Mustard, a former Galar Champion who runs a Pokémon dojo. Players train the Legendary Pokémon Kubfu through a series of trials, eventually evolving it into one of two forms of Urshifu depending on the tower they choose.

The expansion also introduced new areas, returning Pokémon, Gigantamax forms, Max Soup, and a more open exploration structure. Players sometimes call it a standalone DLC, but it was sold as part of an Expansion Pass rather than as an entirely separate game. Sword and Shield required separate, version-specific Expansion Pass purchases, although each pass included both Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra.
