What is the Elvish language called Quenya in J.R.R. Tolkien’s invented languages?

The story behind the answer

In J.R.R. Tolkien’s invented languages, Quenya is called High Elven.

Quenya is one of Tolkien’s principal Elvish languages and is associated especially with the Elves known as the Eldar. Tolkien modelled aspects of its sound and structure on languages including Finnish, while developing it as part of a much broader linguistic history rather than as a collection of isolated fantasy words.

The term “High Elven” reflects Quenya’s prestige and historical relationship with the Elves who journeyed to Aman. In later Middle-earth history it functions partly as an elevated, literary, or ceremonial language. It appears in names, poems, songs, and formal expressions throughout Tolkien’s writings.

Quenya is often confused with Sindarin, another major Elvish language. Sindarin became the everyday Elvish language of many Elves in Middle-earth, while Quenya retained a more formal status. Black Speech is associated with Mordor, and Westron is the common tongue of many peoples.
