What is the credit cap in Valorant?
Answer
9,000
Answer
9,000
The credit cap in VALORANT is 9,000 credits per player.
Credits, commonly called “creds,” are the round-based currency used to buy weapons, shields, and agent abilities in modes such as Unrated and Competitive. Players carry unspent credits from round to round, so saving can fund a powerful purchase later—but once the balance reaches 9,000, additional income cannot raise it further.
The cap matters because VALORANT’s economy rewards team coordination. A round win pays 3,000 credits, while a loss bonus increases after consecutive losses, and kills and Spike plants provide additional income. Players therefore decide whether to buy immediately, save for a “full buy,” or make a cheaper force buy based on both their own balance and their teammates’ finances.
Some older guides list 12,000 credits because that was the earlier cap. Riot reduced the total from 12,000 to 9,000 during the game’s beta. Another frequent confusion involves Kingdom Credits, a separate progression currency introduced later; those have a different cap and are not the credits used in the weapon shop.
