What is the approximate orbital period of Pandora, Saturn’s moon?

The story behind the answer

Pandora, Saturn’s moon, has an orbital period of about 15 hours.

Pandora completes one orbit around Saturn in roughly 15.1 hours. Its rapid orbit reflects its close distance to Saturn: Pandora travels around the planet at an average distance of approximately 141,700 kilometres, well inside the orbit of Saturn’s large outer moons.

Its orbital motion matters because Pandora is a shepherd moon of Saturn’s F ring. Together with Prometheus, it exerts gravitational forces on ring particles. Small changes in their relative positions can produce waves, kinks, and other structures in the narrow ring.

The orbital period is not the same as Pandora’s rotation period in every simplified description. Like many satellites, Pandora is tidally locked, so it rotates once per orbit and keeps approximately the same face toward Saturn.
