What is the alias of the pink ghost (Pinky) in Pac-Man?

The alias of the pink ghost, Pinky, is Speedy.

In the original American release of Pac-Man, the four ghosts had descriptive names alongside their familiar nicknames. The red ghost Blinky was Shadow, the pink ghost Pinky was Speedy, the cyan ghost Inky was Bashful, and the orange ghost Clyde was Pokey.

These names reflected each ghost’s behavior. Pinky was designed to move ahead of Pac-Man and ambush him from the direction he was traveling, which made “Speedy” an appropriate alias. The later names Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde became the identities most players know today.

The naming system also changed between regions. In the Japanese version, the ghosts had different names based on their behavior, including Oikake, Machibuse, Kimagure, and Otoboke. “Speedy” is therefore a specific English-release alias, not Pinky’s universal name in every version of Pac-Man.
