What is Starkiller's real name in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed?

Starkiller’s real name in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is Galen Marek.

Galen is the son of the fugitive Jedi Kento Marek. Darth Vader discovers the child’s extraordinary connection to the Force after killing Kento on Kashyyyk, then secretly takes Galen away and raises him as a hidden apprentice. “Starkiller” is the codename Vader gives him for his missions against surviving Jedi.

The distinction between the game and its novelization causes much of the confusion. The developers deliberately kept Starkiller’s personal name out of the game’s dialogue and presentation, while the novelization identifies him as Galen Marek. That is why some players remember Starkiller as though it were his actual name.

Galen is accompanied by the training droid PROXY and the pilot Juno Eclipse. His missions eventually place him between Vader’s schemes, the Emperor’s power, and the early formation of the Rebel Alliance. Following Disney’s 2012 acquisition of Lucasfilm, The Force Unleashed became part of the non-canonical Star Wars Legends continuity.
