What is Snapchat's subscription service called?

Snapchat’s subscription service is called Snapchat+. Snap introduced the paid service in 2022 as a way for its most engaged users to access exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features.

Snapchat+ does not replace the regular Snapchat app or make basic messaging unavailable. Instead, it adds optional perks such as custom app icons, special notification sounds, chat wallpapers, a Snapchat+ badge, and the ability to pin a best friend. The exact feature lineup can change as Snap tests new ideas.

One common mix-up is treating Snapchat+ as a separate social network or as an ad-free version of Snapchat in every plan. It is an optional subscription inside the Snapchat ecosystem, and pricing and benefits can vary by country, device, and plan.

The plus sign is part of the official name, so “Snap Premium,” “Snap Gold,” and “Snap Pro” are not the canonical names of Snapchat’s subscription service.
