What is Snapchat's password-protected storage area called?
Answer
My Eyes Only
Answer
My Eyes Only
Snapchat’s password-protected storage area is called My Eyes Only.
My Eyes Only is a protected section within Snapchat Memories, the feature that lets users save Snaps and Stories instead of allowing them to disappear after viewing. Users can move selected saved Snaps into My Eyes Only and protect them with a personal identification number, or PIN.
The name is easy to confuse with Snapchat’s broader privacy features. Memories is the general saved-content area, while My Eyes Only is the extra-protected part of Memories. A Snap placed there is not simply hidden from a Story or removed from the camera roll; it is kept behind the user’s chosen passcode.
Snapchat introduced Memories in July 2016. The feature changed Snapchat from an almost entirely ephemeral messaging service into one that could also organize and revisit older photos and videos. My Eyes Only became the privacy-focused option for especially personal saved content.
