What is Snapchat's feature for saving snaps called?

The story behind the answer

Snapchat’s feature for saving Snaps is called Memories. Introduced in July 2016, Memories created a private, searchable archive where users could keep Snaps and Story posts for later viewing or sharing.

Memories changed Snapchat’s original disappearing-message model. Instead of treating every Snap as temporary, users could save selected photos and videos, edit them later, send them in chats, or add them to a new Story. Saved material could be browsed alongside other stored photos, and Snapchat added search tools based on dates and visual recognition.

Memories are private by default, but users can share saved content whenever they choose. A more sensitive subset can be moved into “My Eyes Only,” a password-protected area inside Memories. Losing the PIN for My Eyes Only can make that protected content unrecoverable, so it is not simply another name for the general archive.

The feature is often confused with a phone’s Camera Roll. Camera Roll is the device’s photo library; Memories is Snapchat’s in-app storage area. “Snapfile,” “Snapvault,” and “Snapbox” are not Snapchat’s official names for saved Snaps.
