Noah's name in the Quranic flood story is Nuh.
Nuh is the Arabic form of Noah and is recognized in Islam as a prophet. The Quran presents him as calling his people to worship God and warning them about the consequences of rejecting that message. A flood then becomes the setting for the survival of believers aboard the vessel.
The Quranic account differs in several details from Genesis. It says the vessel came to rest on Mount Judi, and it includes an episode in which one of Nuh's sons refuses to board and is overwhelmed by the waters. The text does not reproduce every Genesis detail.
The name may also be transliterated as Noah in English-language discussions. “Nuh” is the standard Arabic transliteration used for the Quranic prophet and the title of Quran chapter 71.
