What instrument does Rosie play in Camp Rock 3?

Rosie plays the cello in Camp Rock 3.

Rosie is introduced as a regimented, classically trained cellist. Her background sets her apart from the more conventionally rock-oriented campers, but Camp Rock gives her an opportunity to experiment and discover the kind of performer she wants to become.

The cello is a bowed string instrument that is larger than a violin and normally played while seated. Its presence in the film’s young ensemble helps broaden the musical world beyond guitars, drums, and pop vocals. Rosie’s storyline centers on moving beyond the expectations attached to her formal training.

Lumi Pollack plays Rosie. The character is sometimes easy to confuse with other campers because the film introduces several musicians at once, including Desi, a singer-songwriter and piano player, and Cliff, a drummer. Rosie’s defining musical detail is specifically her cello training.
