A quinceañera traditionally carries a bouquet during formal photographs or ceremonies.
The bouquet is a visual part of the celebrant’s formal outfit and may be coordinated with the dress, decorations, and the event’s colors. Roses are especially common, although families may choose other flowers according to season, symbolism, budget, or personal taste. The bouquet can appear during a church service, entrance, portraits, or the reception.
Floral customs are not identical everywhere. Some quinceañeras carry a bouquet only for photographs, while others use it throughout the formal portion of the event. A family may also choose artificial flowers or replace the bouquet with another accessory.
The bouquet should not be confused with a corsage or boutonniere. Those smaller floral pieces are normally worn on clothing. A bouquet is held in the hands, making it a prominent accessory in traditional quinceañera imagery.
