What fictional food does Kramer feed Rusty the horse in 'The Rye'?

“The Rye” is the 121st Seinfeld episode and the 11th episode of season 7, originally airing on January 4, 1996. Kramer has bought too much food at a warehouse club, so he gives some of it to Rusty, the horse he drives while working as a temporary hansom-cab driver. The meal causes Rusty to produce overwhelming flatulence, forcing the Rosses to end their cab ride early.

Beef-a-reeno is a fictional product, but its name deliberately evokes Chef Boyardee Beefaroni. Early drafts reportedly used excessive amounts of Beefaroni, but the brand would not permit its product to be portrayed as causing the horse’s explosive gas. The writers therefore invented Beef-a-reeno.

The episode is best remembered for the horse gag and Jerry’s theft of a marble rye from an elderly woman. Mackinaw peaches, mulligatawny, and pasta primavera belong to other Seinfeld food references, not Rusty’s infamous meal.
