What feature lets users play audio clips in Discord voice channels?

The Discord feature that lets users play audio clips in voice channels is Soundboard. It allows a participant to trigger a short sound that can be heard by other people in the same voice channel.

Soundboard is designed for quick reactions during conversations, gaming sessions, and streams. A server begins with eight preloaded sound slots, while Server Boosting can increase the number of available slots: Level 1 provides 24, Level 2 provides 36, and Level 3 provides 48.

The feature is not the same as playing a full music playlist. Jukebox and Audio Playlist are descriptive ideas, but neither is Discord's name for this feature. Voiceboard is likewise not the official term. Soundboard clips are short effects or reactions, rather than a general-purpose music player.

Users need permission to use Soundboard in a voice channel, while adding or managing custom sounds requires the relevant expressions permissions. Nitro also lets users use sounds from other servers, although Nitro is not required to use a server's own Soundboard.
