The elite clone trooper who leads the campaign of Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron is X2. Created from the DNA of Jedi Master Falon Grey, X2 serves the Republic during the Clone Wars before breaking with the newly formed Empire and joining the Rebel Alliance.
The campaign follows X2 across a large span of Star Wars history, beginning around Revenge of the Sith and continuing through the Galactic Civil War and beyond. He serves alongside his genetic brother X1, but their paths diverge after Order 66: X1 supports the Empire and eventually becomes a Sith, while X2 regrets executing Jedi General Ferroda and turns against Imperial rule.
X2 later trains in the Jedi arts, forms Grey Squadron in honor of Falon Grey, and works with the Rebel Alliance under Rahm Kota. The finale centers on his confrontation with X1. Players sometimes confuse X2 with X1 because both are elite clones and central to the plot, or with RC-1138, the Republic Commando known as Boss. Elite Squadron’s story belongs to the Legends continuity rather than current canon.
