What does the group create within a month after the crash?

Within a month after the crash, the group creates a home base. In the game, that makeshift base is specifically called the Hideout Ship, a cobbled-together vessel assembled from salvaged materials.

The base gives the stranded crew a place to regroup after their helicopter is forced down. The Mechanic uses resources recovered from raids to improve the Hideout Ship, while Deep Cut helps drive the expedition forward. From this hub, the player selects destinations, prepares equipment, and returns with treasure and materials.

“Home base” is the broad answer, while “Hideout Ship” is the named in-game form of it. It is not a conventional building such as a shopping mall or concert hall, nor is it primarily a training arena. The ship also supports the group's eventual attempt to understand the storm, gather treasure, defeat the local Salmonids, and find a way home.
