The 2026 United States Semiquincentennial coin themed “Enduring Liberty” is the half dollar.
The coin’s obverse features the Statue of Liberty, while its reverse depicts Liberty’s torch being passed to a new generation. The design connects the nation’s founding ideals with the idea of preserving liberty for the future.
The 2026 semiquincentennial coin program includes redesigned cents, nickels, a dime, five quarters, a half dollar, and a one-dollar coin. The half dollar is a collectible issue rather than one of the five circulating 2026 quarter designs.
This redesign was authorized through the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020. Collectors may confuse the half dollar with the 2026 dime, whose “Liberty over Tyranny” design also uses liberty-themed imagery, or with the quarters commemorating events and documents such as the Mayflower Compact and the Gettysburg Address.
