What date did 'Turnabout Intruder' first air on NBC?

The story behind the answer

“Turnabout Intruder” first aired on NBC on June 3, 1969.

The broadcast marked the end of Star Trek: The Original Series’ original NBC run. It was the twenty-fourth episode of the third season and the last first-run episode of the series. The story centers on Dr. Janice Lester, who switches bodies with Captain Kirk and tries to take control of the Enterprise.

The date was later than originally planned. NBC had scheduled the episode for March 28, 1969, but pre-empted it with a special report following the death of former president Dwight D. Eisenhower earlier that day. When the series returned, NBC moved it to Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m., and this was the only first-run episode shown in that new slot.

The date is sometimes confused with the episode’s original scheduled broadcast date. June 3 is the actual first-air date, while March 28 is the date NBC initially intended to use.
