What country is listed as Mad Men's country of origin?

Mad Men is listed as originating in the United States.

The series was created by American television writer Matthew Weiner for the U.S. cable network AMC. Its story is set primarily in New York City’s advertising world, following employees at the fictional Sterling Cooper agency and its successor firms.

Although the show was produced for an American network and is classified as an American period drama, its setting and subject matter are not limited to national identity. The characters’ work connects them to international brands, foreign travel, and major cultural changes of the 1960s.

The country-of-origin entry should not be confused with the show’s language, filming locations, or international distribution. Mad Men is primarily in English, and production took place in locations including New York and Los Angeles, but its listed country of origin remains the United States.
