What college did Georgia O'Keeffe attend in 1905 to study art?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1905 to study art.

She enrolled at the Chicago school after completing her secondary education and began formal training in drawing, painting, and art history. The institution was one of the leading American art schools of its era and was connected with the Art Institute of Chicago museum.

O'Keeffe later studied at the Art Students League of New York, where she worked under William Merritt Chase and won the League's still-life scholarship in 1908. She also studied at the University of Virginia summer school and taught art in Texas and South Carolina.

Her early academic training was rooted in conventional realism, but she eventually turned toward abstraction. Around 1915, a series of charcoal drawings that reduced forms to lines and shapes marked a decisive break from her classroom training. Those drawings helped bring her to Stieglitz's attention.
