What car manufacturer makes the Altima?

Nissan makes the Altima. The Nissan Altima is a mid-size car that the Japanese automaker has produced since 1992, with the first model sold as a 1993 vehicle. It replaced the Nissan Stanza in the North American market and became one of Nissan’s best-known family sedans.

The Altima developed from Nissan’s Bluebird line, a model family that began in 1955. Through much of its history, it occupied the space between Nissan’s smaller Sentra and larger, more upscale Maxima. The car has been offered with four-cylinder and V6 engines, and later generations added features such as available all-wheel drive and driver-assistance technology.

A common mix-up is the Nissan Teana, a related mid-size sedan sold in several international markets. The Teana and Altima shared platforms and, in some years, were closely related or rebadged versions of one another, but the manufacturer of both vehicles is Nissan. Most North American Altimas have been assembled in the United States.
