Answer
Tournament of Roses Parade
The Tournament of Roses Parade takes place in Pasadena, California, on New Year's Day after New Year's Eve.
Often called the Rose Parade, it is organized by the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association. The procession is famous for elaborate floats decorated with natural materials, including flowers, seeds, leaves, and other plant matter. Marching bands and equestrian units are also major parts of the event.
The parade is traditionally held on 1 January, except when that date falls on a Sunday; in that case, it moves to 2 January. This scheduling rule is known as the “Never on Sunday” tradition and avoids conflicting with local church services and events.
The parade is closely linked with the Rose Bowl college football game, which is played in Pasadena as part of the New Year's holiday sports schedule. Despite its connection with New Year's celebrations, the parade itself is not held on New Year's Eve.
