What alias does Princess Aurora use while living in the forest?

The story behind the answer

What alias does Princess Aurora use while living in the forest? Princess Aurora uses the alias Briar Rose while living in the forest.

In Disney’s 1959 Sleeping Beauty, the three good fairies hide Aurora from Maleficent by raising her away from the royal court. To keep her identity secret, they call her Briar Rose. She lives with them in a woodland cottage and grows up believing she is an ordinary peasant rather than the daughter of King Stefan and Queen Leah.

The alias connects Disney’s version with older Sleeping Beauty traditions. “Briar Rose” is associated with the Brothers Grimm tale, while Aurora is the name used in Charles Perrault’s version and in Tchaikovsky’s ballet. Disney combines these traditions by making Aurora her royal birth name and Briar Rose her hidden identity.

Aurora’s forest life lasts until her sixteenth birthday, when the fairies reveal that she is a princess and prepare to return her to the kingdom. She meets Prince Phillip in the woods before learning that he is the prince to whom she was betrothed. “Sleeping Beauty” is another title or alias associated with Aurora, but it is not the name she uses while disguised as a peasant.
