"The Office" aired on which U.S. TV network?
Answer
NBC
Answer
NBC
“The Office” aired on NBC in the United States. The American version premiered on March 24, 2005, and remained an NBC series throughout its nine-season run, ending with its two-part finale on May 16, 2013.
Developed by Greg Daniels, the sitcom adapted the British series created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. It follows employees at the Scranton, Pennsylvania, branch of Dunder Mifflin, a fictional paper company. Its mockumentary style—single-camera filming, documentary-style interviews, and no laugh track—helped distinguish it from many traditional network sitcoms.
Viewers sometimes confuse the network with later streaming homes. After the series left Netflix in the United States at the end of 2020, NBCUniversal’s Peacock became its main streaming destination, including extended “Superfan” versions of selected episodes. Those later distribution arrangements do not change the original broadcast answer: NBC was the U.S. television network that aired the series.
The British original aired on BBC, which is another frequent source of confusion.
