The "Baker Rifle" was developed and used during which military action?

The story behind the answer

The Baker Rifle was developed and used during the Napoleonic Wars. Designed by English gunsmith Ezekiel Baker, it became an important firearm for British riflemen during the conflicts against Napoleonic France.

The weapon was a muzzle-loading flintlock rifle adopted by the British Army around 1801. Unlike the smoothbore Brown Bess musket, the Baker Rifle had a rifled barrel, which gave its projectile greater accuracy and effective range, although loading was slower and more demanding.

It was especially associated with elite light troops, including the 95th Regiment of Foot, later known as the Rifle Brigade, and rifle companies of the 60th Regiment of Foot. These soldiers operated as skirmishers, targeting officers, artillery crews, and other important battlefield positions.

The rifle saw notable service in the Peninsular War, part of the wider Napoleonic Wars, and was also used by British forces in the War of 1812. The Peninsular War is therefore a more specific example, but the broader canonical answer is the Napoleonic Wars.
