Singer Rihanna was born on which Caribbean island nation?

The story behind the answer

Singer Rihanna was born on the Caribbean island nation of Barbados.

Rihanna was born Robyn Rihanna Fenty on February 20, 1988, in Saint Michael, Barbados. She grew up in the Barbadian parish of Saint Michael and later moved to the United States after American producer Evan Rogers heard her sing during a visit to the island. That meeting helped lead to an audition with Def Jam Recordings and the beginning of her international music career.

Barbados is an independent Caribbean country in the Lesser Antilles, east of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Rihanna’s Barbadian identity remains central to her public image: she has represented the country internationally, received Barbados’s highest national honor in 2021, and was named a national hero. The Bahamas, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago are also Caribbean nations, but none is Rihanna’s birthplace.
