Pandora is a natural satellite of which planet?

The story behind the answer

Pandora is a natural satellite of Saturn.

Pandora is a small inner moon of Saturn and acts as an outer shepherd satellite of the planet’s narrow F ring. Its gravitational influence helps shape and confine material in that ring, alongside the moon Prometheus.

The Voyager 1 spacecraft photographed Pandora during its Saturn encounter in 1980. The moon was discovered in images from that mission and received a name drawn from Greek mythology, where Pandora is the first woman created by the gods.

Pandora should not be confused with Prometheus, another Saturnian moon and the inner shepherd of the F ring. Both moons are irregularly shaped and orbit close to Saturn’s rings, but they are separate bodies.
