“Eldest Daughter” appears as track five on Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl.
The song was revealed as part of the album’s track list when Swift announced the project in August 2025. It was released with the standard album on October 3, 2025, and later received additional versions, including an acoustic recording and a demo-style voice memo.
Its position is separate from its release history. “Eldest Daughter” was not a standalone lead single, but its place in the album sequence made it one of the central songs in the standard twelve-track program.
The title can also cause confusion because deluxe editions use descriptive subtitles for alternate versions. Those subtitles identify different recordings of the same song; they do not change the song’s original position as track five.
