Dragons: Race to the Edge first premiered on Netflix.
The animated series debuted on Netflix in 2015 and continues the adventures of Hiccup, Toothless, and the young Vikings before the events of How to Train Your Dragon 2. It expands the franchise’s world with new islands, dragon species, rivals, and mysteries.
The series is based on the DreamWorks Dragons franchise and follows the riders as they operate from a new base called Dragon’s Edge. Its episodic stories provide more time for characters such as Astrid, Fishlegs, Snotlout, Ruffnut, and Tuffnut to develop.
Dragons: Race to the Edge is sometimes confused with Dragons: Riders of Berk, which originally aired on Cartoon Network. Race to the Edge was created specifically as a Netflix continuation within the same broader animated continuity.
