On which mobile operating system was the original Angry Birds first released?

The story behind the answer

The original Angry Birds was first released on Apple's iOS mobile operating system. Rovio soft-launched the game in Finland on December 1, 2009, for the iPhone and iPod touch, before releasing it internationally 10 days later. The game was published on the App Store through a partnership with Chillingo.

Its early success on iOS helped turn Angry Birds into a global franchise. It became the top-selling paid application on the UK App Store in February 2010 and later reached the top of the U.S. paid-app chart, where it stayed for 275 days. Android followed in 2010, but it was not the original platform.

A common mix-up is confusing the first release with the game's later ports. Angry Birds eventually appeared on Android, Symbian, webOS, BlackBerry, Windows, consoles, and computers. Those versions expanded its audience, but iOS is the single canonical answer for the original launch.
