On which date did the 1929 Wall Street Crash reach the day called Black Tuesday?

The story behind the answer

The 1929 Wall Street Crash reached the day called Black Tuesday on October 29, 1929.

Black Tuesday followed Black Thursday on October 24 and Black Monday on October 28. On October 29, investors traded millions of shares as confidence collapsed and forced selling accelerated on the New York Stock Exchange.

The crash did not by itself create every condition of the Great Depression, but it severely damaged wealth, business confidence, and financial institutions. Falling share prices also exposed highly leveraged investors and companies to large losses.

A common mix-up is treating Black Tuesday as the entire crash. The Wall Street Crash unfolded across several dramatic sessions in October 1929, and the broader economic depression continued for years afterward.
