On which American television network did House M.D. originally air?

The story behind the answer

House M.D. originally aired on the American television network Fox.

Fox broadcast the series from its United States premiere in 2004 through the final episode in 2012. The network positioned House as a drama built around rare illnesses, difficult ethical choices, and the personality of its unconventional lead physician.

The program was produced by Heel and Toe Films, Shore Z Productions, and Bad Hat Harry Productions in association with Universal Television. Its fictional hospital, Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, gave the series a consistent setting even though production was based largely in Los Angeles.

House became one of Fox’s signature scripted dramas and attracted a large international audience through syndication and overseas broadcasters. It is sometimes grouped with network medical dramas from NBC or ABC because those networks also aired prominent hospital series, but House itself was a Fox production and broadcast property in the United States.
