On what date was Lamine Yamal born?

Lamine Yamal was born on 13 July 2007.

His full name is Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana, and he was born in Esplugues de Llobregat, in Catalonia’s Barcelona metropolitan area. Although his birthplace is near Barcelona, he grew up in Mataró’s Rocafonda neighbourhood and spent part of his childhood in Granollers after his parents separated.

Yamal began playing football locally with La Torreta before Barcelona’s scouts noticed him when he was six. He joined Barcelona’s youth system in 2014 and progressed through La Masia before making his first-team debut in April 2023, aged only 15.

A common mix-up is confusing his birthplace with the places most associated with his upbringing. Esplugues de Llobregat is the city listed for his birth; Mataró and Granollers relate to his childhood and family life, not the date of his birth.
