The United States Army held its 250th Anniversary Parade linked to America250 on June 14, 2025.
The parade took place in Washington, D.C., on the Army’s 250th birthday. June 14 is celebrated as the Army’s birthday because the Continental Congress established the Continental Army on June 14, 1775. The 2025 event therefore marked the Army’s own quarter-millennium anniversary one year before the nation’s July 4, 2026 semiquincentennial.
The celebration included soldiers, military vehicles, aircraft, musical units, and historical representations of the Army’s service. It should not be confused with Independence Day celebrations, which occur on July 4, or with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence itself. The parade connected America250’s broader national commemoration with the history of the armed forces that emerged during the Revolutionary War.
