On what date did Star Wars Galaxies servers shut down?

Star Wars Galaxies servers shut down on December 15, 2011.

Sony Online Entertainment and LucasArts announced the closure on June 24, 2011, citing the end of the game’s service agreement. The shutdown ended more than eight years of live operation after the MMORPG’s June 2003 launch.

The final service ended at 9:01 p.m. Pacific time. Players who remained online were disconnected, and new logins were blocked. The closing period included special in-game events, including a final conflict between Imperial and Rebel players and an appearance by Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Force ghost.

Several dates in the answer choices are associated with other Galaxies milestones. June 26, 2003, was the game’s original retail release date, while October 27, 2004, and November 17, 2016, were not the server-closure date. The shutdown also occurred shortly before the launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic.
