On what date did America250 events formally begin, before the 2026 anniversary?

America250 events formally began on July 3, 2025, before the United States reached its 250th anniversary in 2026.

The date marked the formal start of the America250 events described in planning for the United States Semiquincentennial. It was almost exactly one year before July 4, 2026, the 250th anniversary date associated with the Declaration of Independence.

This date is distinct from the earlier United States Army 250th Anniversary Parade, which took place on June 14, 2025. It is also distinct from January 29, 2025, when the White House Task Force on Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday was created by executive order.

America250 celebrations were designed to cover events leading up to the anniversary itself rather than occur only on Independence Day. The broader program includes historical, civic, educational, and commemorative activities organized by federal and non-federal partners.
